What could we do creatively in Northumberland to address chronic issues like housing, poverty and inequity that impact health and well-being in our community? What can we do to ensure that everyone feels welcome no matter where they seek out help?
As a society, we value the health of our community, but not everyone has access to the same level of care and support. Many people continue to experience barriers of access to housing, healthy food, and stigma-free, inclusive, and welcoming care and services. Members of our community experience the impact of inequity and stereotypes that hinders the care and support they receive, and more is needed to support those who are experiencing barriers to ensure all have access to the basics of a healthy life.
In this first Strategy Hive, we will begin a creative exploration of what we can do in Northumberland to ensure that everyone, especially those who told us that they are currently not being well-served, feels welcome and supported across local health care and community services. Together, we will set priorities for action that will help make Northumberland a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
